Roles

These are the roles that are needed:

  • Asset
  • Search
  • Can create collections
  • Can write collections
  • Can create root collections

Creating Collections

Collections are created from the search interface or from within a collection.

From the collection panel

  1. Go to the Search page.
  2. Open the Collections panel in Search by pressing the collections panel icon
  3. Click to the collection which you want to branch from. If you do not want to branch from a collection select the root /.
  4. In the text box in the panel write the name for the collection.
  5. Press the plus icon to create the collection.

You will need the can create root collections role to create that at the root level of the tree. See Creating Root Collections for more information

From the main gearbox menu

Collections can created from the search interface when you are searching or when viewing a collection, which will create a sub-collection in the current collection.

If you are creating a collection from the search interface you might need the user role "Can create root collections" if you are not an administrator

  1. Go to the Search page to create a new root collection or into a collection to create a sub-collection.
  2. Click on the gearbox menu on the top right of the screen.
  3. Choose "Create New Collection" or if you are in a collection "Create New Subcollection".
  4. A modal dialog will appear.
  5. Add a name for the new collection.
  6. Click to create the collection.

Create a sub-collection in the collection panel

If you want to you can create a new sub-collection in the collection panel tree.

  1. Go to the Search page.
  2. Open the collection panel.
  3. Right click or click on the menu
  4. Choose "Create New Subcollection".
  5. A modal dialog will appear.
  6. Add a name for the new collection.
  7. Click to create the collection.

Change parent of a collection.

To change the parent of the collection one needs to:

  1. Go to the Collections panel.
  2. Drag the collection you want to move into the collection you want it moved to.
